Personal loans are available from Moneyback Bank which is actually part of Alliance and Leicester. They provide unsecured loans of amounts from £7500 and up to £20,000.

You'll need to borrow at least £7,500 and if you sign up they will only pay you some money back if you have taken out their payment protection option - so not as great as it first seems.

Even more confusing is that the moneyback payment is split over the lifetime of the loan, so for a smaller loan of between £10,000 and £20,000 you only get £20 per year (£100 in total).So making a comparison with any other loan becomes quite complicated. Just decide how much you need to borrow, whether you need payment protection or not, and then compare the total repayment cost (with or without moneyback payments).
